Celebrity's Millennium
The new 91,000 ton $350 million Millennium will be larger than many new ships today but holds only 2362 passengers. Compare this to the larger Grand Princess which is 109,000 tons but holds 3100 people. Millennium will be the roomiest new ship afloat except for the luxury class ships.
A particularly unique feature of the new ship will be its link to the past. The walls of the ship’s specialty dining area will be the actual interior paneling from the R.M.S. Olympic, sister ship to the R.M.S. Titanic. This specialty restaurant will appropriately be named "The Olympic" and will elegantly seat 134 guests. The restaurant has it's own kitchen and its own highly trained and skilled staff. The food is incredible! Go early on your cruise because you will want to return.
The origin
of the room’s design stems from a rare collection of wood paneling that once
graced the main dining room onboard the glamorous R.M.S. Olympic. First launched
in 1911, the R.M.S. Olympic drew the wealthiest and most influential travelers
from Europe and the United States who enjoyed dining in Louis XV splendor within
the ship’s most elegant dining room. The paneling was discovered in a private
English residence and recently offered for sale at Sotheby’s. The Olympic restaurant
also will offer the industry’s first demonstration galley, along with a dine-in
wine cellar. Each of the dining areas onboard Millennium – "The Olympic", "The
Metropolitan" main dining room, the "Ocean Café" and "Ocean Grill" – will continue
to feature the highly rated cuisine of European Master Chef Michel Roux, as
do all Celebrity ships.
Millennium will offer a number of interesting features and amenities, several of them industry firsts:

In addition to its new public spaces and amenities, Millennium will expand upon Celebrity Cruises’ highly-acclaimed, fleetwide signature elements, including museum-quality contemporary art collections, Cova Café di Milano, Michael’s Club cigar lounge, and Martini and Champagne Bars serving caviar and other delicacies.

Celebrity Suites are in the middle of the ship in the part that bulges outward. This allows you to see forward through extensive curved glass windows. These huge suites are incredibly beautiful with 467 square feet. They have a separate bedroom and large marble bath but do not have private balconies like all the other suites. A Sky Suite is 308 square feet with 244 sq. ft. in the cabin plus a 57 sq. ft. balcony. Our favorite is the Royal Suite with a separate living room, dining room and bedroom. These suites are 733 sq. ft. with 538 in the cabin and 195 on the huge balcony with its own private jacuzzi. The ultimate suite is the 2530 sq. ft. Penthouse Suite what has 1432 sq. ft in the suite plus a huge 1098 sq. ft. balcony.
Category 2 balcony cabins looksimilar to the cabin shown and have 170 square feet in side the cabin plus a 38 sq. ft. balcony. The Concierge Class (CC) baloncy cabins has 232 square feet - 191 sq. ft. inside plus a 41 sq ft private balcony. Category CC also offers an exceptional level of service & amenities like those found in suites, but without a butler and at a much lower price. The cabin size is 21 sq. ft. larger than a category 2 balcony cabins but the service and amenities in the cabin are greatly upgraded. Please see Concierge Class for the details.
The Family Value (category FV) cabins have a larger cabin and a very large
balcony. They face aft on the ship and are great for families of 5 or 6. You
must have at least 5 people to book an FV and they hold up to 6 guests.
Oceanview cabins are 170 square feet and have these large round windows that remind one of huge portholes.
Inside cabins are a roomy 170 square feet.
