Royal Caribbean's Radiance & Brilliance of the Seas
The new 91,000 ton $350 million Radiance & Brilliance of the Seas are the same size as their Celebrity twins, the Millennium, Infinity, Summit & Constellation. They are larger than many new ships today but holds only 2501 passengers. Compare this to the larger Grand Princess which is 109,000 tons but holds 3100 people. These ships are roomy and elegant plus they have many great options for families.
Radiance and will have over 500 balcony cabins, a 10-story Centrum and glass elevators facing the sea, a rock climbing wall, putting green, a 3D movie theater, sports bar, billiard room, and 6 dining alternatives on board. She has a huge exclusive, supervised children's area with video games, separate pool with big slide, and much more. The glass covered solarium shown at the left is decorated with a jungle theme and soft jungle sound in the background. It is wuite nicelky done. Radiance is one of the most exciting new ships
The ship is roomy and gorgeous. The crew was very friendly and the service was excellent. The Windjammer Cafe was the nicest decorated casual restaurant we've seen. The food in the Windjammer was excellent. Even the fish was great. Anyone could find something excellent they would like here. They even had sushi one day. The main dining room was beautiful as you would expect, but the Windjammer exceeded all expectations. Keeping with the restaurants, the Seaview Cafe is a very nice indoor and outdoor area for fast foods with a nice variety.

The Colony Club is a unique lounge area that includes four additional and distinct meeting areas: the Bombay Billiard Club, Jakarta Lounge, Singapore Sling's and the Calcutta Card Club. All areas are linked together by a central street dotted with flickering glass torches – giving the quaint illusion of gas lamps of British colonial times, the era after which the facility has been modeled. These lounging areas are travelers' opportunity to enjoy a drink, read, relax and play cards or a variety of other games.
The luxury cabins are all nicely done and similar to all the new Royal Caribbean ships, but the category C cabins have been nicely upgraded. This is a very nice improvement for these cabins. I liked the sport bar and cinema next door with stadium seating. The Colony club area has two larger gyroscopically controlled pool tables that are keep level, and several lounges with different decors, and a large dance floor and entertainment area.
Themain dining room is gorgeous on the Radiance. She also has the Portofino and Chop's Grille are separate reservation only restaurants for guests that want a top-level 3 hour multi-course dining experience with only the finest ingredients cooked to order, many right next to your table. There is a $20 per person charge for these restaurants. Think of these restaurants as an optional extra cost spa treatment for your palette. .
