Covid-19 Travel Updates

Here are the updated health protocols for some of the cruise lines. Rules can change and vary from country to country. Overall, it is best to be vaccinated with one booster and have your negative Covid-19 test prior to boarding your flight.

Sherpa + Travel Leaders: Latest Travel& Health Restrictions by country

Celebrity Cruises

Vaccinations

  • All crew and guests who are eligible to be vaccinated must be fully vaccinated with all doses administered at least 14 days prior to sailing. Effective April 15, 2022, this will include all guests 5 years of age and older on sailings departing from the US. COVID-19 Booster Vaccine shots are not currently required to sail on Celebrity Cruises.

Testing

  • All vaccinated guests must present a negative COVID-19 test result taken as either as an Antigen or PCR test conducted within two days of embarkation and complete a health questionnaire prior to sailing. All unvaccinated children between the ages of two and eleven years old, will be required to bring a negative PCR test result conducted within three days of embarkation. An additional COVID-19 Antigen test will be administered in the terminal before boarding and on the day before disembarkation

  • 24- hour Health Questionnaire

Holland America

US & Canada Departures

  • Vaccines: Guests ages 12 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated.

  • Masks on board are recommended but not required indoors or outdoors. We highly recommend guests wear a mask in the World Stage and other entertainment areas, casino, spa treatment rooms, Club HAL and during other congregate events. Masks are required to be worn during the entire embarkation and debarkation process and on transportation during any Holland America Line organized shore excursions, on tenders to and from ports, and in the onboard Medical Center.

Testing

  • All guests ages 2 and older are required to take a pre-travel Covid-19 test. The type and timing of the test is dependent on the embarkation country and vaccination status.

Europe Departures

  • Vaccines: For these cruises the definition of “fully vaccinated” is at least 14 days and no more than 270 days (9 months) since the last dose in the vaccine series of an approved COVID-19 vaccine for guests ages 5 years of age and older. A booster dose is required for guests whose final dose of an approved/authorized COVID-19 vaccine is older than 9 months (270 days) to be considered “fully vaccinated”.

  • Masks:  Masks are recommended on board but not required. However, masks may be required in certain venues and events. Masks are required during the embarkation and debarkation process and on transportation during shore excursions and to/from the ship.

Testing

  • Testing:  All guests ages two and above will require a medically observed, negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) result taken within one day of embarkation.

  • 24- hour Health Questionnaire

Princess Cruises

Vaccinations

  • Guests must have received their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the beginning of the cruise and provide acceptable proof at terminal check-in.

  • Boosters are highly recommended for those eligible at least seven days before cruising.

Testing

  • At terminal check-in guests must provide proof of a negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken before or at embarkation.

  • 24- hour Health Questionnaire

Regent Seven Seas

Vaccinations

  • All guests and crew must be fully vaccinated, at least 2 weeks prior to embarkation, in order to board. Guests will need to provide proof of vaccination as provided to them at the time of their vaccination, therefore a photograph of a vaccination card is not sufficient.

  • For sailings in Europe, any guest who’s primary COVID-19 vaccination will be beyond 270 days at the time of disembarkation from their voyage must have received a COVID-19 “booster” dose prior to embarkation. Guests who currently do not meet the EU Healthy Gateways definition of “Fully Vaccinated” should ensure they receive their “booster” prior to travelling to the ship or you will be unable to board. The EU Healthy Gateway considers the “booster” effective immediately, so it may be administered as late as the day of embarkation, though we strongly advise to have it completed before your vacation begins.

Testing

  • Unless otherwise stipulated by local regulations that would supersede our policy, all guests are required to complete a COVID-19 PCR or Antigen test from a lab or pharmacy within 48 hours of arriving to the terminal for cruises beginning in a U.S. port or within 72 hours for all other cruises. All guests must provide proof of a negative test result (printed or digital) at embarkation and should travel with a copy of their test result. Guests participating in any Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ pre-cruise land program will receive complimentary testing.

  • 24- hour Health Questionnaire

Royal Caribbean

Vaccinations

  • All guests age 12 and up are fully vaccinated. Booster doses, though not required, are strongly recommended once you are eligible.

  • Masks are optional for fully vaccinated guests. We expect unvaccinated children to continue wearing masks indoors and in crowded settings. Masks are required for all children age 2 and older while at the Adventure Ocean youth program. Guests under 2 do not have to wear a mask at any time.

Testing

  • All guests 2 and up take a COVID-19 test before sailing. All crew are tested regularly per CDC guidelines.

  • 24- hour Health Questionnaire

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises

Vaccinations

  • All guests on Uniworld cruises or cruise/tours through December 31, 2022, are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to travel. Booster doses may be required to be considered full vaccinated. Check here for travel restrictions: https://www.uniworld.com/us/travel-requirements

  • We encourage all guests to wear a mask while in public areas onboard, especially when distancing cannot be maintained. Local regulations may require the use of masks in all public areas onboard, however masks can be removed when eating or drinking in the lounge and restaurant. While onshore, all guests and crew are subject to local mask guidelines. In some locations a high-rated respirator mask such as FFP2, N95/99, or KN95 may be required. Please pack any personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitizers that you require.
