Navigating AMA Waterways PDF Itineraries to Understand Included Tours

Much different than the ocean cruises, AMA Waterways makes it a little easier for your upcoming cruise as shore excursions are included with your cruise. Once you have selected your cruise itinerary or still deciding, take a look at the day-to-day itinerary for what is included in the river cruise especially. You can download the PDF or if you are old-fashioned, print it off. Choose the year and 7-night cruise or cruise with extension. This will personalize the day-to-day itinerary for you.

Here is a sample itinerary for the Danube itinerary from Budapest to Vishofen with 2-night pre-cruise Budapest and 3-nights Prague.

How to read the Day-to Day itinerary:

When you look under the activities section, you'll see day, destination, and activities (tour titles). Tour are indented by morning, afternoon, evening tours. OR tours are underneath each section to let you know there are other options as well for each time frame. Morning tours are typically between 9:30-12:30pm, afternoon tours are 1-4pm and evening tours are 5-8pm. Tours can be booked onboard as soon as you get onboard for each type of walker. Gentle tours - wheelchair bound or slow walkers, Regulars - normal walkers, and Active- fast walkers.

For example, Day 4 in Budapest, you can choose 2 tours - a morning and afternoon tour for this particular day.

AM Tour: Buda city tour (gentle or regular walker) OR Castle Hill hike in the morning (active walker - just over 5 miles of walking)
Afternoon Tour: Pest city tour in the afternoon (all three levels)

For example, Day 7 in Krems, you can choose 3 tours for this particular day - morning, afternoon, and evening tour.

AM Tour: Durnstein walking tour, Durnstein Apricots and Sweets (to die for), Durnstein Fortress hike (warning - can be intense), Krems bike tour
Afternoon Tour: Melk Abbey Visit, Danube bike tour, Spitz bike tour
Evening Tour: Exclusive Wine Experience

Optional tours are not included in the PDF itinerary. This will be available when you check in for your cruise 60-days prior to departure date online or through the MyAMACruise app. There will be a description, pricing, and when to pay -in advance or when you get onboard. Keep in mind AMAWaterways state prices in Euros, not USD. You cancel prior to embarkation.
