Cranberry Spice Sparkler


Ingredients:

2 oz cranberry juice

1 oz spiced simple syrup (recipe below)

1 oz orange liqueur (e.g., triple sec)

3 oz chilled sparkling wine

Ice cubes


Fresh cranberries and orange slices for garnish


For the Spiced Simple Syrup:

1 cup water

1 cup granulated sugar

4 whole cloves

2 cinnamon sticks

1 star anise




Instructions:


1. Prepare the Spiced Simple Syrup:

a. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.

b. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

c. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to infuse the syrup with spices.

d. Remove from heat and let it cool completely. Strain to remove spices, and store in a glass jar.


2. Mix the Cocktail:

a. In a shaker filled with ice, combine cranberry juice, spiced simple syrup, and orange liqueur.

b. Shake well to chill the mixture.


3. Strain into a Glass:

a. Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with ice cubes.


4. Top with Sparkle:

a. Gently pour the chilled sparkling wine over the cranberry mixture.


5. Garnish:

a. Drop a few fresh cranberries into the drink for a burst of color.

b. Add a thin slice of orange for a citrusy touch.


6. Toast to Thanksgiving:

a. Give it a gentle stir with a swizzle stick or spoon.

b. Raise your glass, and toast to the warmth of the season and the company of loved ones.
